Full Moon Aquarius

Different is better when it is more effective or more fun.
— Timothy Ferris

The Moon appears full when it is illuminated by the Sun’s light. This happens when the Sun and Moon are on opposite sides of the sky, meaning they are in opposite signs. For example, the Leo season Full Moon happens in the sign of Aquarius.

The Full Moon represents the climax of the Lunar Cycle. All the energy of the New Moon has been building up to this point. It is the time we feel most alive, high energy. There is a desire to connect, to gather, and to celebrate. Mirrored in the menstrual cycle by ovulation, it also represents the sigh of relief as all that built up energy is released. It is a time to let go, be free, and embrace the wild feminine.

Leo season is about being in the spotlight, while Aquarius is about building a community. This Full Moon asks us to find a balance between the individual and the collective. This moon cycle began with the New Moon in Cancer, so even though it’s Leo Season, we’ve been focusing on prioritizing self-care. With all that is going on the world right now, many of us feel torn between the need to take a stand and the need to protect our own mental health. The unique combination of these signs invites us to release any limiting beliefs around being the change we wish to see. Remember, the only person can change is yourself. If you want to heal the planet, you must heal yourself first.

Aquarius is a progressive and innovative sign, always thinking outside the box. It’s great for problem solving, and combined with Leo’s creativity, it can help you find new ways to look at any obstacles that come between you and your intentions. Perhaps there is someone willing to support you that you never had the courage to ask, or an untapped resource you hadn’t considered. Both Leo and Aquarius are fixed signs which means they are stubborn. However, this lasting energy can be utilized as determination towards a goal. There is always a solution if you’re willing to look for it. Use tonight’s ritual to bring a fresh perspective.

With bossy Leo and rebellious Aquarius, make sure your need to speak out comes from a place of authenticity. The quote above reminds us that different for the sake of different loses its value. Thinking outside the box and showing off your skills work best when put towards a greater goal, rather than just stroking the ego. As you take action this month, ask yourself, “who does this serve?” and “does this benefit my highest good?”

On The Full Moon

The Full Moon ritual is similar to that of the New Moon. However, instead of setting intentions we focus our energy on the release. It is a perfect time to celebrate what we have achieved and let go of what has kept us stuck. I also suggest burning your lists in a fire safe manner. Fire helps transmute any negative energies and bring them back to neutral. It is especially powerful for letting go.
