Full Moon Gemini

You must start by taking back control of your head if you want to gain control of your life.
— Mel Robbins

The Moon appears full when it is illuminated by the Sun’s light. This happens when the Sun and Moon are on opposite sides of the sky, meaning they are in opposite signs. For example, the Sagittarius season Full Moon happens in the sign of Gemini.

The Full Moon represents the climax of the Lunar Cycle. All the energy of the New Moon has been building up to this point. It is the time we feel most alive, high energy. There is a desire to connect, to gather, and to celebrate. Mirrored in the menstrual cycle by ovulation, it also represents the sigh of relief as all that built up energy is released. It is a time to let go, be free, and embrace the wild feminine.

Sagittarius and Gemini are both concerned with matters of the mind. As we explore our philosophy and vision for the future, Gemini lends its curiosity. One of the challenges of Sagittarius energy is that it can make us a little blunt. In the pursuit of truth and knowledge, it can be easy to forget that not everyone is ready for the truth. Gemini reminds us that communication is a two-way street, and listening is just as important talking. One of the ways travel can be so expansive is by allowing yourself to observe different ways of thinking without deciding that they are wrong.

This season we’ve been focusing on expansion, but most often our biggest limits are within our own minds. At the Gemini New Moon, six months ago, we discussed how our subconscious mind is actually running 95% of the show. Its main goal is to keep us alive, and it will continue to drive our choices and actions based on past experiences. Negative beliefs come from an initial limiting decision you made about yourself. By continuing to make this same decision over and over, you solidify it as belief and eventually it become part of your identity. From there, your subconscious mind will drive your actions and choices to make sure the belief is fulfilled in your life.

Both signs are mutable which is great energy for making change. Tonight’s meditation is actually a hypnosis. It uses a subset of Hypnotherapy called T.I.M.E Techniques, which stands for Time Integration for Maximum Empowerment. This technique is to release limiting decisions. In private sessions I can facilitate a personalized experience with this, but you can use this generalized version over and over. All you need to do is choose the decision you’re ready to get rid of and ask your subconscious “when did I decide this?”.

On The Full Moon

The Full Moon ritual is similar to that of the New Moon. However, instead of setting intentions we focus our energy on the release. It is a perfect time to celebrate what we have achieved and let go of what has kept us stuck. I also suggest burning your lists in a fire safe manner. Fire helps transmute any negative energies and bring them back to neutral. It is especially powerful for letting go.

  • Set the space for inner work.

Suggested crystals: Lapis Lazuli and Aquamarine. Suggested oils: Geranium and Eucalyptus

  • Full Moon meditation

  • Closing ritual:

Closing phrase: “Under the light of the Full Moon, I am cleansed. I know that I am blessed, and I live my life within that knowing.”
