Full Moon Leo

The best way to predict your future is to create it.
— Abraham Lincoln

The Moon appears full when it is illuminated by the Sun’s light. This happens when the Sun and Moon are on opposite sides of the sky, meaning they are in opposite signs. For example, the Aquarius season Full Moon happens in the sign of Leo.

The Full Moon represents the climax of the Lunar Cycle. All the energy of the New Moon has been building up to this point. It is the time we feel most alive, high energy. There is a desire to connect, to gather, and to celebrate. Mirrored in the menstrual cycle by ovulation, it also represents the sigh of relief as all that built up energy is released. It is a time to let go, be free, and embrace the wild feminine.

While Aquarius is focused on building a community, Leo is much more concerned with the self. This Full Moon is a good time to find a balance between your desire to give back, and your need to take care of yourself first. This month we’ve been focusing on building community, however Aquarians can often get stuck in their heads and become detached from the people they’ve surrounded themselves with. The Moon in Leo reminds us to have fun! Don’t forget to connect with the amazing people in your circle and celebrate where you are.

With Aquarius’ progressive and innovative energy, combined with Leo’s creativity you have the power to create a beautiful vision for the future. Use this energy to tap into your personal power. Remember, you create your own reality so you get to decide the kind of world you want to live in. By working to improve your inner world the world around shifts and changes to reflect that. You still have to take action of course, but it all begins by getting clear within yourself and doing the healing work first.

Both Leo and Aquarius are fixed signs which means they are stubborn. However, this lasting energy can help provide follow through for the long term goals you set last month. As I mentioned at the New Moon, when you start spending more time with people who light you up, the others start to fall away on their own. However, there are some people we get a little too emotionally attached to for it to be that easy. Tonight’s meditation is to help you release the energetic bond so that you can let go more easily. Don’t worry, you won’t lose you connection to the people you care about. However, sometimes the people on the other end of the bond will reach out to you and try to reestablish the connection. I definitely had some exes come out of the woodwork the first time I did this!

On The Full Moon

The Full Moon ritual is similar to that of the New Moon. However, instead of setting intentions we focus our energy on the release. It is a perfect time to celebrate what we have achieved and let go of what has kept us stuck. I also suggest burning your lists in a fire safe manner. Fire helps transmute any negative energies and bring them back to neutral. It is especially powerful for letting go.

  • Set the space for inner work.

Suggested crystals: Amber and Green Aventurine. Suggested oils: Lemon and Grapefruit
