Community and Networking

“Focus on spending time with people who make you feel like glitter”

~ Dr. Jolene Brighten

It’s time to find your tribe! Aquarius is the sign of friendship, and building a community of like minded people. It’s said that we are the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with, so it’s very beneficial to choose your friends with care.

Often we let work, family, or obligations dictate who we surround ourselves with. This month is an opportunity to make it a conscious choice. Some people can drain your energy if you let them, while others lift you up and make you feel brighter just by being around them. By focusing and prioritizing time with the latter, you’ll start to attract more like-minded friends, coworkers or clients. And the people you no longer engage with start to fall away all on their own. Coming off of last month’s focus on career, this month follows up with a perfect time for networking and building connections. Think about who you want to work with, and what kind of people you can reach out to, personally and professionally, in the next few weeks.

Despite being the “sign of friendship,” Aquarius tends to be detached and analytical. That’s not the only dichotomy of this sign either. Most people would think of Aquarius as a Water sign because of the root “aqua”, but it’s actually an Air sign. The final Air sign is intellectual and forward-thinking. Always looking for innovative ideas for the future of our world. This energy can inspire us to think outside the box for our own problem solving, showing us a new perspective and seeing the big picture.

Despite being an Air sign, Aquarius does have an affinity with water. The Water Bearer symbol is depicted as pouring life-giving water over the Earth, symbolizing the humanitarian nature of Aquarius. This sign is not only concerned with building community by connecting with people, but also with giving back to them. Your challenge for this month is to give back to your community by donating either time or money to an organization you believe is making the world a better place.
